Find me on:

keys3A couple of weeks ago I wrote a blog post on managing the list of Events on your Website, App, and Text-to-Church keyword all in one place.  Click here to read more about how this three-in-one functionality works saving time for staff responsible for communication.

Since then we added the keyword RESOURCES to separate these links from EVENTS.  This also matches the functionality in the Member App.

Why should we use KEYWORDS for event registration?

Keywords give a real time way for people to respond to a registration appeal by using the SMS application they use everyday.  They are quick and easy to use because information already in the database (ex. name, phone, email) is pre-populated on the registration form.  A workflow of emails, texts, call assignments and more can be pre-set to automate confirmation and follow up.

Why should we use the keyword EVENTS?

Let people know that if they forget a keyword for an event, they can just text EVENTS to see a full list of keywords.  The more frequently keywords are used to promote events, the more important this keyword becomes.

How should we use the keyword RESOURCES?

Use the keyword RESOURCES to give people access to anything using the same keyword functionality they use to register for events.  Common examples might be LIVE (for livestream), BIBLE (for Bible.com), SERMONS (for sermon archives), RNMEDIA (for Right Now Media).  See this KB article to learn how to make anything digital available by texting and in the App.

Our hope is that by creating a clear distinction between EVENTS and RESOURCES, you will be able to make it easier for people to find what they need and for your staff to manage their registration and communication resources.
