Find me on:

hearOne of the distinctives people love about Churchteams is our attention to our clients.  You are the ones using the software day in and day out.  What you say to us matters.  We listen.

Here are 2 registration,  2 data management, and 3 communication upgrades that illustrate this point.

Review them here, then click on any that sound interesting to learn more.  If you're a regular Churchteams user, they might (1) save you some time, (2) help you communicate more clearly, or (3) help you empower your leaders.

  1. Edit the registration payment email address
  2. Customize the registration confirmation email subject line
  3. Preview / Test email subject line
  4. Email Templates page
  5. Allow leaders to send text via Text-to-Church
  6. Merging for deceased individuals on family merge
  7. Reordering custom attributes by 10's
  8. Added security requirements for Directory password

  1. Edit the registration payment email address.   This upgrade empowers staff or ministry leaders to edit email addresses after people have registered for an event.  This is useful when (a) a wrong email address was entered, (b) a copy of the payment reminder should go to someone other than the person who registered, or (c) a copy of the payment reminder should go to someone in addition to the person who registered.  You will see the option listed in the Payment column below the Pay button.  It is only visible when someone registers for a group/event/form  that requires a payment.  It is not visible when someone is just added to the group/event/form.

  2. Customize the registration confirmation email subject line.   You have always been able to customize the email registrants get back when they register for something, but this upgrade allows you to customize the subject line of that email as well.  It is found on the Registration Settings page and pretty self-explanatory.  Text entered here will replace the default subject lines (Registration Confirmation for groupname & Thank you for supporting groupname).

  3. Preview / Test email subject line.  The subject line of Preview emails sent through the Churchteams editor will now be preceded by "PREVIEW."  This will help you differentiate preview from live email sends.  If you use this feature, you've likely already seen it.

  4. Email Templates page.  There are six new upgrades on the email templates page.  (1) Count of total number templates.  (2) Name of workflows this email is used in.  (3)  Last updated or create date for new templates.  (4) Check box to select templates.  (5) Mass Actions for all checked templates.  (6) Templates used in workflows can NOT be deleted.

  5. Allow leaders to send text via Text-to-Church.   Back in June, AT&T deprecated their free texting by email service so that it is no longer functional.  To accommodate we added an option on the Group Information page to allow a group  leader to send texts through Text-to-Church like higher levels of access already could.  There are several caveats to this that are explained in the hover description (left) and subsequent pop-up (right).

Leaders should really only use Text-to-Church to send mass notifications that do not need replies and are not confidential.  This is the screen leaders will see when Text-to-Church is enabled for their group.

  6. Merging for deceased individuals on family merge.  The four reports that find families that should possibly be merged (People > Family > Merge) will now exclude families made up of only deceased members.  Click here to learn more about the deceased actions that take place when someone is marked as deceased.

  7. Reordering custom attributes by 10's.  Custom People Attributes are organized by their sort order number.  This allows you to organize attributes and drop down responses in any way you like.  Eventually the numbering can be cumbersome, the "Space sort order by 10's" button cleans this up quickly for you.  This upgrade reorders dropdown attributes as seen in this before and after image.

  8. Added security requirements for Directory password.   Going forward, we will require 8 or more characters: one number, one uppercase and one lowercase letter for the directory password (Settings > Accessibility > Directory / Member Access).  This will not change your current password until you choose to re-set it.
