While most church events are open to all, some require tickets for admission, either to confirm payment or to manage capacity. Our registration and check-in features have worked together for years to sign people up for events and then check them in just like they would for a service.
The missing component was a way for people to register, check-in by text, and then receive something back to confirm they've checked in. Many dedicated event check-in systems, like Eventbrite, do this by providing a confirmation email or text with a link to a QR code to scan for entry.
This image shows you what a registered guest would see on their phone using precheck by text.

- Guest texts "Check" or "Checkin" as they enter the parking lot or building.
- Click on the Churchteams link they receive back. (Blue in this image.)
- Confirm they are here on the linked page.
- Show the ticket agent the confirmation text.
How do I set Precheck by Text up in Churchteams?
- Start by creating the event itself with all the required registration options including payments and capacity for the event.
- Create or edit the Check-in view you will be using. This should be a unique check-in view for events.
- Check option
You can set up an automatic station ahead of the event so that it's ready to go before the doors open. Those who don't precheck by text will still be able to checkin through a normal checkin station.
One of our pilot churches that uses all our Text-to-Church features sent out communication ahead of time telling their people to avoid lines at the event by using Precheck By Text. Their people loved using a familiar tool in an exciting new way. It saved them time and it saved the church the expense of yet another software.
